AMBIENT MONKEYS
Nashville based duo, Ambient Monkeys, take the art of "listening" to another level. Denny Jiosa and Michael Moryc have worked together as engineers and producers for over several decades. A strength of the duo is that they come from divergent musical roots. Jazz, Chill, and Ambient, fuse together effortlessly in the compositions of the Ambient Monkeys. Timbre and texture are just as important as melody, harmony, and rhythm. The space between notes is every bit as important as the notes themselves. Michael Moryc has been involved in every aspect of the music industry, from singer/songwriter, guitarist, jazz promoter and producer to indie label executive. After sustaining nerve damage in his left hand, he was no longer able to play guitar live in concert. He simply could not play what he was hearing in his head and have his hand respond. Then ... Michael discovered the RAV Vast melodic tongue drum invented in Eastern Europe. Once again, he was able to be creative musically and his 20-year hiatus from performing would be over. Part of the uniqueness and mystery that is Ambient Monkeys can be heard in the wonderful sonic blend of the RAV with Denny's amazing guitar textures and tones. Denny Jiosa's artistry has garnered him recognition worldwide. JAZZIZ magazine declared, "If Eric Clapton played jazz, he'd be Denny Jiosa.". Denny has always pushed the envelope stylistically but is best known for his 6 smooth jazz projects, all garnering top 5 positions on the smooth jazz charts. Also of note are his hit songs "Lights of The City" and his number #1 UK single, "Wounded Warriors". He is equally at home in the studio as a renowned engineer/producer with four Grammy nominations to his credit. At one time Michael was the Director of Promotions for Atlanta Indie label, Brave Dog Records, whose motto was, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog." - A motto that could easily apply to Ambient Monkeys! They embrace a style of music that lives from its emotions, breaks free from conventional patterns and thus creates its own. a AMBIENT MONKEYS EPHEMERAL BEING TAIL OF THE DRAGON - 3:46 RUMOURS OF KALAMAZOO - 4:19 NIGHTHAWK - 4:57 PASEO - 5:09 THE CAT'S MEOW - 3:33 OUT AT NIGHT - 5:13 NOT CHAOS - 5:03 EPHEMERAL DAWN - 3:52 SNOW MONKEY - 4:24 CROSSING OVER - 5:23 FULL BIO WEBSITE AMBIENT MONKEYS ~ THE TRILOGY PROMOTION - MATTHEW BURGESS
